Alice Petron, 86, of Blackduck, formerly of Bemidji, died July 19, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Society -- Blackduck.
Funeral services were conducted by the family July 23 at the Northern Point Community Church of the Nazarene in Kelliher. Burial was be in Fairview Cemetery in Kelliher. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Bemidji.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
She was born May 4, 1924 in Two Inlets Township in Becker County to Earl and Pamelia (Pierce) Knight. She attended Tranker School and graduated from Northome High School. She attended Frenches Business College in Bemidji.
She worked in Menominee, WI and Chicago, IL for the war department as a clerk during World War II.
She married Robert Petron Nov. 27, 1947 in Funkley. They lived in Kelliher for 35 years, Staples for 11 years and in Bemidji for 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her five daughters, Kathryn (William) Powell of Effie, Cynthia (Marvin) Anderson of Glenallen, AK, Peggy (Fred) Kelm and Connie (Bill) Kelm both of Bemidji and Candace (Les) Mastin of Marrieta, GA; three sons, Douglas (Michelle) Petron of Inkster, N.D., Randall (Anita) Petron of Swanville and Kirt (Roxanne) Petron of Taylorsville, GA; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lucile Mitchell of Blackduck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Lynn Knight and Elmer Knight and grandson, Billie Jo Kelm.
