Agnetta "Agnes" Sather
Agnetta "Agnes" (Nybo) Sather, 94, of Clearbrook, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at The Garden Place in Bagley.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Elim Lutheran Brethren Church in Clearbrook with the Rev. Tom Seaver officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley. Burial will be in the Elim Lutheran Cemetery in Clearbrook.
She was born Oct. 3, 1914, to John and Amanda (Thompson) Nybo in Saco, Mont. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Elim Lutheran Brethren Church of Clearbrook for most of her life. She married Elmer Sather on Oct. 24, 1936, in Bagley. They had one son. They lived most of their married life in the Clearbrook area. She worked at the Good Samaritan Center for 35 years. She was one of the first workers hired there and retired in 1985. After her husband died in 1988, she moved from the farm to Brookfield Apartments in Clearbrook where she lived for 20 years. She was the caretaker there for years. After an illness, she entered the Good Samaritan Center for a few months. She went back home and stayed there until December 2008 when she entered the Garden Place in Bagley where she resided until her death.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and sewing and, most of all, visiting with friends and family.
She is survived by her son. Jerry (Peggy) Sather of Clearbrook; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys Larson of Hopkins, Minn.; brothers, Alfred Nybo of Bloomington, Minn., and Clifford (Marie) Nybo of Webster, Minn.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years; sister, Alma; and brothers, Oscar and Arvin.
