Agnes Caroline Week, 88, of Blackduck, died on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at Northern Pine Good Samaritan Center in Blackduck.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Blackduck with Rev. Ray Klug officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Week, DuWayne Long, LeRoy Week Jr., David Week, Darren Week, Cody Gross, Roy Gross III, Michael Week, John Gross, Roy Gross II, Travis Moen, Parnell Davis and Lance Weatherly.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1918, to John and Aletta (Nordahl) Hanson, in Hornet Township, Minn. She attended country school in Hornet through the eighth grade. She spent the first 23 years of her life in Hornet Township. She married Knute Robert Week on Oct. 4, 1941, in Tenstrike. They lived on a farm in Funkley for 35 years, then moved east of Blackduck and lived there for 19 years before moving to the Blackduck Apartments for five years. She has spent the last few years of her life in the Northern Pines Good Samaritan Center in Blackduck.
She enjoyed her many grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She also loved cooking and baking, embroidering and crocheting pillow cases for family members. She received many volunteer awards for her service at Northern Pines Nursing Home. After she moved into the nursing home, she was always ready for a game of cards.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Don) Ferdig and Karen (Sam) Long, both of Blackduck; sons, Robert Week of Zimmerman, Minn., LeRoy (Kathy) Week of Eau Claire, Wis., and Roger (Dolly) Week of Babbitt, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; and many friends at Northern Pines Good Samaritan Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James LeRoy Week; a grandson; and brother, Alfred John Hanson.
