The Bemidji Aerials Level 7 and 8 gymnasts competed in the Lucky Chance Invitational in Grand Forks on Saturday.
In the Level 7 meet, Kylei Grosfield led the Aerials to a third-place finish in the seven-team field. Grosfield, in the 8-11 age group, placed second on the vault with 8.75, first on the uneven parallel bars with 8.725, sixth on the balance beam with 8.45, second on the floor exercise with 9.0, and second in the all-around with a 34.95 total score.
In the 12-16 age group, Kayla Hennum scored 8.75 for fourth on the vault, 7.4 for fifth on the bars, 8.2 for sixth on the beam, 8.95 for fourth on the floor, and 33.3 for fifth in the all-around.
Jessica Bergquist scored 8.6 for eight on the vault, 6.45 on the bars, 7.45 on the beam, 8.1 for 10th on the floor, and 30.6 for 11th in the all-around.
Brittney Beck received 8.2 on the vault, 6.9 on the bars, and 7.65 on the floor.
In the Level 8 meet, Haley Gregg in the 14 and over age group placed third on the vault at 8.5, second on the bars at 7.85, second on the beam at 8.25, second on the floor at 8.7, and second in the all-around at 33.3.
Hannah Gregg (under 14) scored 8.4 for fourth on the vault, 7.15 on the bars, 9.0 for second on the beam, and 8.45 for 30.0 all-around score.
Alyssa Allen (14 and over) scored 8.375 for fourth on the vault, 7.75 for third on the bars and 8.0 for fourth on the floor.
The next action for the Aerials will be the Level 7 state meet on March 27. Hennum hit the 34.5 qualifying score in Chaska on Feb. 26, and Grosfield qualified several times this season.
