The Badger School District bus was traveling on Minnesota State Highway, about four miles west of Roseau, when it was hit in the rear about 7:30 a.m. by a semi driven by James Soucy, 76, of Fargo, N.D.

A Minnesota State Patrol email said the eight children inside the school bus were taken to Life Care Medical Center in Roseau with non-life threatening injuries.

Soucy was driving a 1999 Kenworth semi owned by Tommerdahl Transport Inc. of Fargo.

The semi hit the rear of a 2011 International school bus, driving by 61-year-old Timothy Berger, as the bus was turning north on 340th Street, causing the bus to overturn.

The State Patrol said Soucy was cited for failing to use care while driving.
