4 public hearings set for JPC meeting
BEMIDJI - The Greater Bemidji Area Joint Planning Commission will convene for its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Bemidji City Hall.
Public hearings are scheduled on the following agenda items:
- Mark and Amy Thorson are seeking four variances for a property at 116 Gemmel Ave. SW. They are asking for a 10-foot height variance, 15-foot front yard setback variance, a 5-foot rear yard setback variance and a 30 percent impervious surface variance for the construction of a new single-family residence.
- Pat DeMarchi is seeking a 3-foot variance to allow for the construction of a home on an existing basement, which previously was located too close to the property line.
- North Homes is requesting an Interim Use Permit for 210 Beltrami Ave. NW to allow for the addition of chemical dependency treatment to the existing outpatient mental health assessments and counseling service currently offered.
- Willstar Riding Academy is seeking an Interim Use Permit to operate a horse-riding academy at 2344 Balsam Road NW.
The JPC makes recommendations to the Joint Planning Board, which next is scheduled to meet May 9.
