4-H youth elected as council leaders

BAGLEY – Five youth have been elected to serve as officers of the Clearwater County 4-H Leaders’ Council, which works to promote 4-H and leadership among youth in the county, as well as monitor 4-H finances and uphold 4-H policy so all persons have equal access to 4-H programming.

Monica Reichert of Clearbrook was elected to serve as Leaders’ Council president for 2012-2013.
“4-H is a wonderful learning experience,” Reichert said. “4-H offers vital life lessons, such as how to become a better leader, how to take responsibility and how to stand up for what you believe in.”
Reichert currently attends Clearbrook-Gonvick High School. She enjoys riding horses, training dogs, reading, playing volleyball and spending time with family and friends. Reichert is also a Clearwater County 4-H ambassador and serves as the youth co-chair of the Clearwater County 4-H Horse Project Development Committee.
“This is an exciting new opportunity in my 4-H career and I am looking forward to getting to know all of the 4-Hers and listen to their ideas on how we can make 4-H better,” she added.
Sam Ternes of Gonvick, a member of the Leon Ramblers 4-H Club, was elected to serve as vice president of the Leaders’ Council. Ternes is a Clearwater County 4-H Ambassador.
Juliana Mord of Gonvick, a member of the Midnight Riders 4-H Club, was elected to serve as secretary. Mord, who recently stepped down as Clearwater County 4-H Leaders’ Council president, is president of the Midnight Riders 4-H Club and is currently a Clearwater County 4-H ambassador.
Emily Hanson of Bagley, a member of both the Woodside Workers 4-H Club and the Bits N Spurs 4-H Club, will serve as Leaders’ Council treasurer. Hanson is president of the Woodside Workers 4-H Club and serves as a Clearwater County 4-H Ambassador.
Kirah Otting of Bagley, a member of the Bits N Spurs 4-H Club, will serve as the Leaders’ Council reporter. Otting also serves as the secretary of the Bits N Spurs 4-H Club.
