3-year-old boy found in Minnesota lake dies

ERHARD, Minn. (AP) -- A 3-year-old boy who was hospitalized after family members pulled him from a lake east of Erhard in northwestern Minnesota has died.

The Otter Tail County sheriff's office says the boy died Sunday night at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.

He was hospitalized after relatives found him unresponsive in Eddy Lake south of Maplewood State Park just before noon Friday.

He was visiting grandparents when he vanished. His family searched for him for 10 to 15 minutes before finding him in the water.

He was taken by ambulance to Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, where doctors were able to regain a pulse. He was then flown by helicopter to MeritCare Hospital.
