$12K in damages from garage/shop blaze

FROHN TOWNSHIP – Bemidji firefighters responded Thursday to a garage/shop fire here.

The fire, reported at 2:07 p.m. by the shop’s owner, was in the 1600 block of Adelia Drive Southeast.

According to a news release, Bemidji firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke exiting the roof and attic area of the structure. Firefighters quickly contained and extinguished the blaze after locating it in the attic.

The fire caused an estimated $12,000 in damage to the structure and some contents. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental in nature.

The fire department, which spent about an hour on scene, was assisted at the scene by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Bemidji Ambulance Service and Minnesota State Patrol.

No injuries were reported.
