The Ten Commandment tablets, located on the south side of U.S. Highway 2, just west of the junction of Highway 2 and state Highway 89 (approximately 5 miles west of Bemidji), were defaced with black spray paint by unknown suspects. Both tablets received considerable damage from this act of vandalism. The tablets were constructed by a private party at his own expense.

Beltrami County Sheriff Phil Hodapp requests that anyone who has knowledge of the suspects involved or may have seen a vehicle in the area call our office with that information. The case is being actively investigated. Please call 333-9111 or, if long distance, toll free 888-449-9111.
