Headwaters Open-Mic CoffeeHouse begins season Jan. 5
BEMIDJI -- Headwaters Open-Mic CoffeeHouse will launch its 2018 schedule on Friday, Jan. 5, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Headwaters Music and Arts. The CoffeeHouse, held on the first Friday of most months, features open-mic music and spoken-word performance in a supportive and family-friendly environment, a press release said. Coffeehouse fare is available courtesy of Cantabria Coffee Co., the release said.
Admission is $3 per person or $7 per family. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to sign up for a 10 to 15 minute set. Sign up begins at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact John Henningsgaard at (218) 444-9845.
Corey Campbell and Lori Barrow will host this month’s CoffeeHouse. Relative newcomers to Bemidji, Campbell and Barrow are devotees of the local folk music scene, the release said. Campbell plays banjo, fiddle and guitar and shares his enthusiasm for traditional music with his students at Headwaters.
