DFL governor candidate forum set for Bemidji
BEMIDJI -- Candidates on the Democratic side to be Minnesota’s next governor will gather in Bemidji for a candidate forum this month.
Co-hosted by Bemidji College Democrats and the Beltrami County Democratic-Farmer-Labor party, the event will take place Monday, Jan. 15. Doors will open at the Beaux Arts Ballroom in the Hobson Memorial Union at BSU at 5 p.m. and the forum will get started at 6:30 p.m.
According to a press release from the Beltrami County DFL, the following candidates will attend:
- St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman.
- District 64A Rep. Erin Murphy, St. Paul.
- State Auditor Rebecca Otto, May Township.
- District 61B Rep. Paul Thissen, Minneapolis.
- U.S. Congressman Tim Walz, MN-01.
District 26A Rep. Tina Liebling, Rochester, is also running for the DFL endorsement for governor, but is unable to attend the event.
Moderating the forum is Beltrami County DFL Chair Janelle Wolf. Admission to the forum is free and open to the public. Individuals attending aren’t required to be members of the DFL party.
The Hobson Memorial Union is located at 1500 Birchmont Drive NE.
