Bemidji man receives police award

A Bemidji man recently was recognized by the Bemidji Police Department for his role in stopping a domestic assault. Tom Johnson was presented with a Citizen Certificate of Recognition Award after he intervened in the assault and waited with the victim until police arrived. "Mr. Johnson's action demonstrate a bravery and selflessness that is above and beyond what is required of citizens witnessing such an event," the Bemidji Police Department wrote on its Facebook page.
