Maurices fashion show will help pets
Local models will take part in a fashion show to help homeless cats, dogs and other animals.
Maurices will host a fashion show at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Paul Bunyan Mall. The show will feature models wearing Maurices' fall fashions. The goal is to raise support for animal shelters and help increase pet adoptions.
Maurices stores across the country are involved in Rescues & Runways, in partnership with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The campaign will continue throughout September. People can stop by Maurices to donate pet supplies or money, with all support going directly to Beltrami Humane Society. Maurices will give each supporter a coupon for 20 percent off one regular-priced item.
Maurices will also offer its Friends for Life charm in stores and online through October 31 or while supplies last.
Half of the charm is worn by the pet and the other half by the pet's owner or another pet. The charm is $5, with $2.50 going to the ASPCA to support its national programs.
