Summer flights added for Bemidji airport

Travelers to and from Bemidji will have more options this summer.

SkyWest Airlines said Tuesday that it is adding additional weekend and Monday flights from Delta Airlines between Bemidji Regional Airport and the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport.

The weekend flights will be added from June 29 to Aug. 18, and the extra Monday flights will run from July 8 to Aug. 19, officials said.

“Every summer, Bemidji sees an increase in visitors as people from all over the world take advantage of the beautiful landscape and many activities available in the area,” Mike Thompson, vice president of market development for SkyWest Airlines, said in a press release. “SkyWest is pleased to help make the travel experience more convenient than ever this summer.”

The weekend flights will be Saturday flights leaving Minneapols at 2:15 p.m. and arriving in Bemidji at 3:16 p.m. and flights departing Bemidji at 3:41 p.m. and arriving in Minneapolis at 4:39 p.m., officials said.  Monday departures will be at 9:15 a.m. from Minneapolis and arriving in Bemidji at 10:20 a.m.; departing Bemidji at 10:55 a.m. and arriving in Minneapolis at 11:52 a.m.

The additional summer flights will be operated by SkyWest using the Bombardier 50-passenger CRJ200, officials said.

SkyWest, based in St. George, Utah, is a regional airline that partners with the network carriers such as United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, US Airways and Alaska Airlines.
