Headwater Builders Association: Builders show is this weekend

The 25th annual Headwaters Builders Show is this weekend. Thought it focuses on home remodeling and building projects, not all vendors will be construction-related. Shown left, Joe Piscel, Toby Korbi and Roger Ulick, staff from Midnight Sun Spas, set up a Brunswick pool table. The show is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admittance is free with a donation to the food shelf or Habitat for Humanity. Monte Draper | Bemidji Pioneer

BEMIDJI – The Headwaters Builders Show will mark its 25th anniversary this weekend.

The 25th annual show, to be hosted at the Sanford Center, will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

There is no admission fee, but attendees are asked to bring an item for the Bemidji Community Food Shelf or to make a donation to the Northwoods Habitat for Humanity.

The show first was hosted in 1989, said Lisa Knutson, executive officer for the Headwaters Builders Association.

This year, she said, 34 booths have been filled, which is within a normal range for the show.

“Anyone with any kind of building project in mind, any kind of remodeling project, they can come talk to the experts,” she said.

From large additions to bathroom and kitchen remodels to deck and porch projects, representatives with numerous businesses will be on hand to talk with homeowners about their options, Knutson said.

“They can give them choices,” she said.

Also, experts will be available to talk strategies for saving energy, Knutson said, noting energy-savings has been the theme of the show for the last couple of years.
