Dave Beaupre joins BREC

The Bemidji Regional Event Center, managed by VenuWorks of Bemidji, has announced the hiring of Dave Beaupre as director of sales and marketing.

Beaupre will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans for the facility and its incoming events. He will also be actively involved in the marketing of sponsorship opportunities with the 185,000-square-foot arena and convention center, and will provide assistance in attracting local, regional and national conventions and conferences.

Beaupre comes to VenuWorks after a long career at 5-Star Vending and Coca-Cola Bottling of Bemidji.

"Dave's local experience with executing sales and marketing strategies as well as his media and advertising experience in the Bemidji region will be a major asset to the facility," said Bob LeBarron, BREC executive director.

Beaupre is a graduate of Bemidji State University and a longtime resident of Bemidji. He and his wife, Linda, have two grown children.

VenuWorks provides management services for arenas, theaters and convention centers that are primarily under the governance of municipalities, counties, colleges, and universities. The company, headquartered in Ames, Iowa, serves 33 facilities in 17 communities in 11 states. It also manages food and beverage operations and provides event booking and promotion services. VenuWorks also performs feasibility studies and consulting work for clients with existing and prospective public assembly facilities.

Explore Chiropractic is extending the Bemidji Wellness Challenge for six more weeks. Participants are competing to win wellness prizes and more than $1,000 in bonus donations.

Phase 2 is set to kick off Thursday, April 15. Participants can register up until that date.

Phase 2 of the challenge is a six-week program for individuals who are looking to improve all aspects of their health - physical, biochemical and Psychological. Participants will be involved in group coaching, nutritional guidance, workshops and group workout times.

Jessica Trueblood and Mark Sorenson have been named to leadership positions at Northern Dental Access Center in Bemidji.

Trueblood has been named programs director of Northern Dental Access Center. She has been with the clinic since it opened in December 2008. She will provide overall leadership for clinic programming and personnel.

She has a bachelor's degree in English and history from Bemidji State University and has completed the medical billing program at Northwest Technical College. She has 12 years of experience in administrative and customer service fields.

Sorenson has been named business manager, a position added to provide financial management and daily accounting for the agency. A certified Quickbooks Pro adviser, he earned a bachelor's degree in social work from Moorhead State University and an associate's degree in accounting from Northwest Technical College. He has 19 years of experience as a business owner.

Lori Paris, president of the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce, has completed Leadership Minnesota, a program of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce that provides an inside look at the state's changing economy and the issues that will shape its future.

"This program is an opportunity to see the distinct challenges each industry faces and, at the same time, understand the common hurdles presented in today's global economy," Paris said. "Leadership Minnesota offers great access to key policy-makers and highlights the importance of sound relationships among business leaders and Minnesota's government."

Participants travel the state for five two-day sessions and are exposed to a range of businesses that drive Minnesota's economy
