Police report

The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following calls:


4:02 p.m. Thursday, 500 block of Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest. A woman reported that she had been punched by a man riding a bicycle.


9:04 a.m. Friday, 500 block of Grant Avenue Southeast. A resident reported the theft of the 3.5-foot chainsaw carved bear, black with brown nose, from the yard. The carving is valued at $150-$200.

Peace disturbance

1:01 a.m. Friday, 600 block of Patriot Drive Northwest.

Property damage

1:18 p.m. Friday, 1900 block of Birchmont Drive Northeast.

Hit and run

8:17 p.m. Friday, Minnesota Avenue Northwest.

Sheriff's report

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls:


12:59 a.m. Thursday, Plantation Road Southeast. A resident reported that during Wednesday evening a woman punched her in the face.


12:50 p.m. Thursday, a landlord reported that renters in the 3400 block of 15th Street Northwest stole two queen-size beds from the rental unit. Charges are pending.

10:26 p.m. Friday, 6400 block of Lavinia Road Northeast.

1:36 p.m. Friday, 1100 block of Dewey Avenue Northeast. Medical call.

2:06 p.m. Friday, U.S. Highway 2 East, former Ainsworth plant. Mutual aid call from Cass Lake Fire Department. Cancelled en route.

4:27 p.m. Friday, 1600 block of Norton Avenue Northwest. Medical call.

6:27 p.m. Friday, 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest. Medical call.
