The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following calls:
9:35 a.m. Tuesday, 900 block of Fourth Street Southeast. A cedar log-carved bear was stolen from in front of a garage. The 3-foot-tall, 50-pound bear also had a planter atop its head. The loss is valued at $60.
3:52 p.m. Tuesday, 2100 block of South Lake Irving Drive Southwest. A 6-foot black bear figure was stolen from the end of a driveway.
12:58 a.m. Tuesday, 800 block of 26th Street Northwest.
1:41 a.m. Tuesday, Lake Boulevard Northeast.
6:12 p.m. Tuesday, 600 block of Lincoln Avenue Southeast.
9:23 p.m. Tuesday, 1600 block of Bemidji Avenue North.
9:41 p.m. Tuesday, 600 block of Fourth Street Northwest.
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls:
2:32 p.m. Monday, Deer Lake School. A theft from a semitrailer being used as for storage was reported.
9:36 p.m. Monday, 10700 block of Nature Road Northwest. Mail tampering was reported.
8:32 p.m. Tuesday, 9900 block of Irvine Avenue
10:19 p.m. Tuesday, 1800 block of Roosevelt Road Southeast.
8:14 p.m. Tuesday, 9500 block of Mayflower Road Northwest.
The Bemidji Fire Department responded to the following calls:
2:47 p.m. Tuesday, 1700 block of Norton Avenue Northwest. Fire alarm, canceled.
4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Northern Lane Northwest. Grass fire. Nineteen firefighters responded with four trucks and were on scene for more than an hour.
8:37 a.m. Wednesday, Cameron Park. Rescue attempt. Seven firefighters responded with two trucks and the hovercraft.
